A Tablehopp event guide

Pub crawls. Make a night of it.

The first place is just where you meet. Give the group a route, a reason to move on and a little surprise between stops. Here is how to put a pub crawl together without turning it into a race through a list of bars.

Start with the route, not the number of stops

Choose a meeting place people can find, then build a walkable route from there. Think about how the evening ends as well as how it begins: the final stop should make it straightforward for guests to head home.

Keep the route short enough that there is time to talk at each place. Opening hours, group bookings, accessibility and the spaces between venues are things to check yourself. An address in an app is not a reservation.

Give each stop its own moment

A quiet first stop gives everyone a chance to arrive. The next might include a clue to solve together. Leave room later in the night for the group to settle in rather than making every stop another deadline.

Competition is optional. A shared route can work just as well without points or games. Make it clear that joining the group does not depend on drinking alcohol, and include a way to skip a stop without losing track of the evening.

Where Tablehopp fits

Tablehopp brings the event schedule, messages, team information and map together. Guests join through your event link or code. A next address can be revealed when it is time to move on, with clues and team scores if those belong in your plan.

The app supports the experience you arrange. You still choose the venues, speak to them about the group and decide how guests move between stops. This guide is not a directory of participating bars or a promise that a venue has space.

Before you send the invitation

  1. Check the places

Confirm opening times, group capacity, booking requirements and accessible entrances with each venue.

  2. Walk the route

Allow time between stops and decide on a meeting point if someone arrives late.

  3. Choose the surprises

Decide whether the next address is a reveal, whether there are clues and whether teams compete.

  4. Tell guests what matters

Share the start time, how to join, what costs they cover and who to contact during the event.

Questions before you start

Does Tablehopp book the venues?

You arrange venues and reservations yourself. Tablehopp is for the event schedule, guests, teams, messages and what happens between your chosen stops.

Do we need teams, clues or scores?

No. Choose the elements that suit your group. A shared route without a competition is still a pub crawl.

How do guests join?

Guests join through an event link or code, on a mobile device or in a browser. The organizer uses the iPhone app.
